Oceans (2004)

A beachfront hi-rise resort on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. We created 3D renderings and animations of the exterior, a retail area and interior of 2 apartments. This also involved view capture and photomontage work. Our client saw the advantages of using our complete service and our "complete scene" workflow.

All interior Archiform 3D renderings are pure 3D with no photo objects and are radiosity rendered. The animations have the same quality as the stills, giving us a clear lead in moving picture presentations and providing a complete set of portfolio of images for each project within the normal price structure.

Although the client didn't order photomontage we saw it as such a good opportunity and so worthwhile we shot it while onsite doing the views. We pride ourselves on over-delivering through our scene building techniques rather than nitpicking over inclusions. Also note the camera tracking n the beginning of the movie (WMV format) that shows the building blended into real aerial footage.

The two photomontage shots, one from the oceanfront and one at night are typical of our philosophy of telling a story. Professional photography isn't just about having a great camera, it's knowing how and when to use it.

As can be seen in this presentation, the interior scheme chosen by the client is very white, modern and minimalist.

Exterior architectural renderings

Renderings of exterior scenes take many elements to complete. Of significant importance are trees and landscaping. Archiform 3D models trees and plants down to the leaf. This requires much more effort to create than the typical flat face plants that other companies use, but the results are far superior. Renderings are enhanced, but 3D Animations are where the additional effort really shows. It is part of our overall Photo-Perfect package.

Architectural renderings with photomontage

If your project location has an attractive natural feature or location then you may want the renderings to be merged into a photograph. 3D photomontage is the combining of a photograph with renderings, blending the two to form a highly realistic picture. The finsihed renderings are usually an alsmot perfect representation of reality. The site photographss can be shot from any perspective or time or day. We cut around existing features that need to be retained and we can enhance the image with new ones too. Often contracted to capture the site pictures, we normally take a broad range of shots from dawn to dusk and night including various angles. You can also just email photographs that you already have and we will work on them.

Architectural renderings of interior designs

With detailed and life-like results, Archiform 3D's approach to interior Architectural renderings and 3D Animations pushes the technology curve. We model each piece of furniture in 3D from just pictures of the originals and apply scanned fabric from real-world samples. Decoratoration items and personal accessories are also created in 3D and placed carefully throughout the scenes. The scene is then illuminated carefully for realism and effect.

This combination often gives better visual results than reality as we are not restricted to the limitations of traditional or modern photography. What is worth remembering is that our fly-through 3D animations of these interior scenes is to the same Photo-Perfect 3D quality as our still Architectural renderings.
