Interior living room scenes, like lounges, grand salons and family rooms are the most intensive of an apartment, condominium unit or house to create. They contain more varied detail, are larger rooms, often cover more than one living space and are the focus of day-to-day living within the home. The many levels of decoration and possibilities for colours and fabrics means that these rooms are also hard for a client to describe in a brief.

The nature of the furniture within these rooms makes them difficult to model in 3D. This is due to the often-complex curves and softness that go into items like sofas, which require painstaking attention to get both the shape and fabrics perfect. This is also true for items such as plants and sculptures, which have fine detail and are sometimes a major part of a 3D rendering or animation.

But despite the complexity, these scenes can be exciting for the 3D artist. This is often in the smaller detailing and touches that enhances what may be a partially complete or basic design document.
