What is Architectural Visualization?
Architecture
as a design process is unique in that the finished piece
is usually a very expensive building. This means
that a mistake in style, form or construction can be
very expensive or irreversible.
Visualizing architectural design is critical, so various
forms of artwork and sketches have been used to get an
architect's ideas across. These started as simple line
drawings, evolved to coloured sketches. Today it is mostly
done with 3D Renderings and animations.
3D architectural visualization has particular benefits
to both the architect and the client. These are:
- Changes to the visualization throughout the design
process are easier than those prepared by hand.
- The renderings and animations are much closer to reality
than hand sketched or painted images.
